Meta Ads · Delhi NCR & remote
That single fact separates Meta from Google and decides everything downstream: what the creative has to do, why lead quality is lower, and why the follow-up matters more than the targeting.
Short answer
Meta Ads run across Facebook, Instagram, Messenger and WhatsApp. Unlike search advertising, they interrupt rather than capture — nobody was looking for you. That makes creative the dominant variable, makes leads cheaper but colder, and makes speed of follow-up the factor that decides whether the campaign is profitable.
Four details. A real reply the same day, from me.
01 The premise
On Google somebody typed what they wanted. On Meta they were looking at a friend’s photograph and you appeared. That difference is not a detail; it cascades through every decision in the account. The ad has to earn attention before it can sell anything. The offer has to be interesting to someone who was not shopping. And the lead, when it arrives, is colder than a search lead by definition.
This is why Meta creative matters more than Meta targeting. Meta’s algorithm is genuinely good at finding people likely to respond — frequently better than the detailed interest targeting advertisers agonise over. What it cannot do is make a boring image interesting. In practice, testing creative is where the returns are, and testing audiences is where the time gets wasted.
The second consequence is about follow-up. A Meta lead was generated by impulse, and impulse decays fast. The same lead contacted within five minutes and contacted the next morning are commercially different things. Businesses that complain about Meta lead quality are very often describing a follow-up problem, and it is worth checking before blaming the channel.
02 Comparison
They answer different questions. This is the honest comparison.
| Question | The answer |
|---|---|
| Do people search for what you sell? | If yes, start with Google. Catching existing demand is cheaper than creating it. |
| Is it visual or impulse-led? | Meta. Clothing, food, interiors, clinics, travel and events all show better than they search. |
| Is it expensive and considered? | Google first for capture, Meta for remarketing and demand creation alongside. |
| Is nobody searching because they do not know it exists? | Meta. There is no search demand to capture, so it has to be created. |
| Do you need enquiries this week? | Both can deliver. Google leads are warmer; Meta leads are usually cheaper and more numerous. |
| Is your budget small? | Pick one and do it properly. Splitting a small budget across both usually produces two underpowered campaigns. |
03 Setup
Most of these are technical and unglamorous, and skipping them is why accounts underperform.

04 Process
Pixel plus Conversions API, meaningful events, offline import where the sale is closed by phone.
Let Meta find the audience. Broad targeting with strong creative consistently outperforms narrow interest stacking now.
Not colour variations — genuinely different angles, formats and hooks. This is the main lever.
Leads routed to a person or a WhatsApp automation immediately. This step decides profitability more than any setting.
Cost per qualified lead, not cost per lead. Cheap unqualified volume is the classic Meta trap.

These sit next to Meta Ads and are usually bought with it. Same person doing the work in each case.

Straight answers, including the ones that cost me work. If yours is not here, ask it — I reply the same day.
Cost per lead is usually lower and lead quality is usually lower too, because Meta interrupts while Google captures intent. The meaningful comparison is cost per qualified lead or per sale, and on that measure they are frequently much closer than the headline figures suggest.
Three common causes: instant forms make it too easy to submit without thinking, the ad promised something vaguer than what you sell, or nobody called them quickly. The third is the most common and the most fixable — contact speed changes Meta lead outcomes dramatically.
Yes, and it is no longer sufficient on its own. Browser-based tracking is increasingly blocked, so the Conversions API sends events server-side as well. Running only the Pixel means Meta is optimising on a partial picture of what happened.
Enough for the algorithm to exit its learning phase, which needs a reasonable number of conversions per ad set per week. Below that threshold performance stays unstable regardless of skill. Consolidating budget into fewer ad sets usually matters more than the total.
Less than you would think. Meta’s delivery has improved to the point where broad targeting with strong creative frequently beats carefully stacked interests. Spend the effort on creative concepts instead — that is where the difference is made now.
Yes — click-to-WhatsApp campaigns open a chat instead of a form, and in India they frequently outperform lead forms because a conversation converts better than a submission. They need someone actually answering, or an automation, which is the real requirement.
