Brief
What you sell, who buys it, what they compare you against and what they are afraid of. One call is usually enough; the fear question is the one that changes the design.
Website Design · Delhi NCR & remote
A website is not a brochure with a scrollbar. It is a sequence of small decisions a stranger makes in about ninety seconds, and design is what makes each of those decisions easy.
Short answer
Website designing is the work of deciding what a visitor sees first, second and third, and removing everything that stops them acting. It covers layout, typography, hierarchy, imagery and the path to an enquiry. Done properly it is a commercial exercise, not a decorative one — the measure is whether strangers contact you, not whether the homepage wins compliments.
Four details. A real reply the same day, from me.
01 The premise
Almost every site I am asked to fix has the same underlying fault, and it is never the colour scheme. The page does not answer, in its first screen, the three questions a stranger arrives with: what is this, is it for someone like me, and what happens if I get in touch. Everything below that first screen is wasted if those go unanswered.
The second fault is competing importance. Nine things on a page are styled as though they are the most important thing on it, so none of them reads as important at all. Hierarchy is not decoration — it is the designer deciding, on the business’s behalf, what a visitor should look at first.
And the third is that the design was approved on a 27-inch monitor by people who already know the business, then met by a stranger on a 6-inch phone in daylight. I draw the phone layout first for that reason. It is the harder constraint, and a design that survives it usually improves on desktop too.
02 The method
Everything else is detail. These five are what I actually spend the time on.
One sentence naming what you do and who for, one line of proof, one clear action. Not a slideshow of stock photography, which delays all three.
Scale, weight and space decide the reading order. If the reading order matches the order the visitor needs the information in, the page feels effortless.
Real photographs, real names, real work, a real address and a phone number. Doubt is what stops enquiries, and stock imagery adds to it rather than removing it.
One primary action per page, repeated as the visitor scrolls. A page offering four equally weighted actions gets fewer of all four.
A design that needs eight web fonts and a 3 MB hero image is a design decision with a bounce-rate consequence. The budget is set before, not audited after.
03 Straight talk
Both halves of this list have cost me work. Both are stated up front for that reason.
Free design review
I will tell you in plain language what a first-time visitor understands in the first ten seconds, where the page competes with itself, and whether it needs a redesign or three fixes.

04 The process
What you sell, who buys it, what they compare you against and what they are afraid of. One call is usually enough; the fear question is the one that changes the design.
A page-by-page outline before a single visual decision. What each page must say, in what order, and what action ends it.
Phone layout first, then desktop, with your real copy in place. Shown as working pages in a browser, not as flat images.
Your changes, in rounds, against the brief. Disagreements get resolved by asking what the visitor needs, not by taste.
The same person writes the code, so the design does not get approximated. Speed and accessibility are part of the build.

Straight answers, including the ones that cost me work. If yours is not here, ask it — I reply the same day.
It scales with the number of distinct page types, not the number of pages — twenty product pages sharing one layout cost far less than five pages that each need designing. I quote a fixed figure after one call, so the number you agree is the number you pay.
Structure and layout are settled quickly on paper and in Figma; the actual design work happens in the browser, because that is where type, spacing and responsiveness are truly decided. You review real pages at real widths rather than flat images that cannot show you how it behaves.
Yes, and it is common. I will give you a page-by-page outline saying exactly what is needed and how long each piece should be, which is far easier to write against than a blank document. For photography I will tell you honestly whether a shoot is worth it for your sector.
As many as the agreed scope needs to get it right. What sits outside that is a change of direction after sign-off — if the brief becomes a different brief, I will say so at the time and price it, rather than quietly absorbing it and cutting quality elsewhere.
It is designed on mobile first, at 360px, before the desktop layout exists. That is the opposite of the usual order and it is deliberate: most of your visitors are on a phone, and a design squeezed down late always shows it.
Both, and that is the main reason to hire me rather than a designer alone. Nothing is lost in a handover, the heading structure is right for search from the start, and the person choosing an effect is the person who has to keep the page fast.
